Lutheran Services NY Alliance will hold a spring gathering of chaplains with Bishops Derek Lecakes and Paul Egensteiner on May 4, 2021 from 1:30 to 2:30 PM for supporting one another to further the church’s servant mission. Details are included below.
While the pandemic has impacted everyone, we know that it has especially challenged chaplains in how they do ministry in their setting. At a recent Lutheran Services New York Alliance (LSNYA) meeting with Bishop Egensteiner of the Metro New York Synod and Bishop Lecakes of the Atlantic District a desire was expressed to better understand the current role of chaplains and their needs.
We hope that you will join us for a one-time meeting in which we invite you to share your ministry. An email will follow in March with the agenda and link of the Zoom meeting.
The bishops will have an opportunity to respond, and together we can explore how we might be a resource to you. Rev. Silvia Misina will provide a brief update on the newly-transitioned Lutheran Partners-CPE program.
Please let us know if you are interested in participating via Zoom on May 4, 2021 from 1:30-2:30 pm by emailing either Janet George (firstname.lastname@example.org) or John Havrilla( jw.lsnya.org). If there are specific topics or issues you would like to explore, kindly email one of us before February 15.
We look forward to “seeing” you in May, and we pray God’s blessings and safety on your ministry.
Janet George and John Havrilla, LSNYA
