Seafarers International House

Seafarers International House offers a unique multi-cultural, multi-faith experience of “global mission on our shores” through shipboard visitation in NY & NJ ports meeting seafarers who come from all over the world. Along with pastoral care activity, the maritime workplace setting also offers opportunities to conduct shipboard worship and meet practical human needs, such as rides to town or mall.

This agency is a unique environment for CPE and its distinctive learning process. There are challenges and limitations, but the experience of CPE students in this placement over nearly eight years provides a solid endorsement for CPE in this setting.
