Installation of Rev. Samuel Silaban, Chaplain

Lutheran Services New York Alliance invites you, by your presence and/or through your prayers, to the Installation of the Rev. Samuel Silaban on Monday, February 12, 1:30 PM, at the Muhlenberg Residence, 510 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217. (view map)

Pastor Silaban has received a Call from the Metropolitan New York Synod/ELCA to specialized ministry, through LSNYA, to serve as Chaplain at Eger Lutheran Homes and Services on Staten Island, and Lutheran Social Services of New York at the Muhlenberg and Bergen Street Residences.

The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Linman, Ph.D., Assistant to the Bishop for Faith and Leadership Formation, Metropolitan N.Y. Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will preach. Pastor Katrina Foster, Dean of the local synod conference will install; and Chaplain Silaban will preside. Clergy, deacons, and congregation and community members are invited to attend. The color of the day is green. Those vesting are asked to be present by 1 PM.

The parking facility located closest to the Muhlenberg Residence is the Bergen Valet Garage, 99 3rd Avenue (312 Bergen Street). Other parking facilities are in the area, but public transportation is a wise choice, given the area traffic patterns.

We are deeply thankful for the Spirit’s work through the church in calling Pastor Samuel to this ministry and ever grateful for the continuing service of Eger Lutheran Homes and Services, and Lutheran Social Services of New York, both partners in Lutheran Services New York Alliance, dedicated to “working together to further the church’s servant mission.
